FTIR spectroscopy is one of the key techniques in the analysis of polymers. The main advantage of this technique is, that it has zero operating costs and gives results in tens of seconds. Also the sample preparation is minimal. Last but not least, it can be incredibly complex - one instrument can cover a wide range of required analyses, many of which are ISO standardized.
The most common applications include:
quick identification of unknown materials
quality control of the incoming granulate or regranulate
final product quality control
filler quantification (with accuracy to higher units of %)
Example of quality control with FTIR spectrometer ALPHA II:
Infrared microscopy provides additional analysis possibilities, which can also analyse samples in a microscale with spatial resolution of up to several microns.
FT-NIR spectroscopy, in turn, is used to monitor important parameters of granulates such as moisture content, fillers, etc.
There are a lot of applications, do not hesitate to contact us with your specific problem, we will be pleased to consult with you about the analysis and help you.
